Making a Difference: Industrialize Africa – Voices from the Ground
image 1

This bite-sized learning module brings together powerful personal stories from across Africa that illustrate the transformative impact of industrialization on communities, livelihoods, and economies. Through firsthand accounts from Namibia, Mali, and Tunisia, the “Making a Difference: Industrialize Africa” video series showcases how infrastructure, manufacturing, and innovation are changing lives.

From the bustling port of Walvis Bay in Namibia, where expansion is opening doors to employment and economic integration, to the Modern Mill of Mali, where young electricians and bakers fuel food security, and finally to Tunisia’s tech and pharmaceutical hubs, where women are breaking barriers in engineering and medicine—each story reveals how industrialization is not just about machines or policies, but about people. These stories highlight how decent work, gender equity, innovation, and inclusive growth are the cornerstones of Africa’s industrial transformation.

Learners will explore the human side of development—how ports, factories, and production lines are enabling dignity, prosperity, and opportunity, and why continued investment in Africa’s people and production systems is critical to sustainable development.
